Professional development planning for researchers - Morning session

This webinar will introduce you to tools to manage your own professional development by practising a skills prioritisation and gaining practice in how to set objectives, reflect on progress, and provide evidence about professional competencies. The Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF) will be used to identify prioritise and benchmark key competencies.

Tori Helmer (Trainer)

Tori is Vitae’s Learning and Development Manager, responsible for the delivery of Vitae’s researcher development training programmes. She has over ten years of local, national and international experience in programme and project management, customer service, stakeholder relations and leadership in the education sector. Prior to this, Tori worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office where she managed complex training and delivery projects and delivered professional training to colleagues. Her portfolio of experience extends globally and includes projects with the Italian Ministry of Higher Education (MIUR), and universities such as the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge in the UK and California State and SUNY in the USA.

Jen manages Vitae events and workshops, including our annual Vitae Researcher Development Conference. Previously she has worked at Vitae in a range of roles and she continues to build and sustain relationships between Vitae and UK/international higher education institutions. Jen manages the UK HR Excellence in Research Award process. She has a keen interest in professional development planning and is an expert on the RDF and the RDF Planner. Jen has managed a range of researcher development projects and has been involved with the development of new resources to enhance provision for researchers.
