In this edition of the REBECA by EURAXESS mentoring programme, 22 organizations are collaborating with the initiative, encouraging and supporting their employees to participate as mentors. R&D-related companies, NGOs, universities, and research-performing organizations are pooling their efforts to contribute to the diversification of early-career researchers.
Within this programme edition, 78 early-career researchers will gain insights and explore opportunities to extend their careers beyond academic research. Professionals such as researchers in industry, research managers in the public or private sector, and various R&D-related professionals from different sectors of society have stepped up to become mentors. Over the next 6 months, they will meet with their assigned mentees, altruistically sharing their knowledge and experience.
Mentors and mentees have already undergone their initial training to set the stage for their meetings and have been equipped with tools to foster a successful mentoring relationship. The program is further enriched by career panels, networking events, and additional training to support mentees in making informed career decisions and planning for their future.
