MAIN OUTCOMES OF THE JUNE 2017 BHO MEETING IN BRUSSELS

The biannual BHO coordination meeting took place in Brussels on the 27thand 28th of June. During this meeting, the European Commission updates BHOs about policy developments and EURAXESS related issues. These are the main topics discussed during the meeting:

POLICY UPDATES

The Steering Group on Human Resources and Mobility, traditionally a body dependent on the European Commission, is going to be managed by the Council because of managerial issues.

Regarding the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers, the European Commission acknowledges certain delay in the support to institutions currently applying for the Human Resources Excellence in Research Award. An improvement in the service (better and faster helpdesk, more information on the website, etc) is expected by the end of the year.

RESAVER , the Pan-European Pension Plan that enables mobile and non-mobile employees to remain with the same pension arrangement when moving between countries and when changing jobs is fully operational now and a number of European countries are already on board. The European Commission has on going conversations with a number of other countries at the moment.

EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL EURAXESS PORTALS

The European portal keeps growing its services. It is expected that, very soon, expressions of interest from institutions willing to host MSCA IFs can be published in the portals. Currently, some countries, are offering this service in their homepages (see expressions of interest from Spanish institutions here).

There is also a new collaboration with EUROPASS so that researchers CVs uploaded in the EURAXESS portal are interoperable with those in EUROPASS.
