Career path in Spain 7th edition

This publication, which FECYT has been elaborating annually since 2016, graphically explains the main characteristics of positions at different stages of the research career and the main funding opportunities for researchers in the Spanish R&i system.

EURAXESS-Spain national organization, The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), has published the seventh edition of the publication "Researcher career path in Spain at a glance!", which compiles the main calls for the hiring of researchers in public and private sectors of the research and innovation Spanish system.
This map, which FECYT has been producing annually since 2016, aims to graphically explain all calls; funded by European, national, regional, and nonprofit foundation agents; at the different stages of the research career established by the European Research Career Framework. This seventh edition includes all those calls that have been published between 2022-2024 and that can be enjoyed in the public and private research sectors.

To facilitate the interpretation of the career stages recommended by the European Research Career Framework (R1, R2, R3, and R4) in relation to positions, and type of contracts in the public Science, Innovation, and Technology, and Universities system, the document contains an alignment and mapping of these positions based on their entry probability. The document contains links that help understand elements of the Spanish research career such as the R3 certification and ANECA accreditation.

Furthermore, with the aim of facilitating the planning of the research career, the map indicates the duration of the funded position and the academic time window that these calls offer to apply for them. The map does not include positions for other research personnel such as research managers, scholars initiating research and technical staff.

The publication is available at https://www.euraxess.es/spain/science-spain, where also additional information can be found to plan research career. If you miss any call on the map or have any suggestions to improve it, do not hesitate to communicate it to us at euraxess-spain@fecyt.es.
