Madrid, 10th of October of 2023. The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) opens today a new edition of the REBECA 2023-2024 mentoring programme. This programme is aimed at researchers who wish to learn about career options beyond the academic research career.
This edition runs across the entire EURAXESS initiative thanks to the financial support received by the EU ERA Talent project. The programme is implemented in collaboration with other EURAXESS members that are part of the EURAXESS REBECA Hub dedicated to researchers' careers diversification and the incorporation of researchers to society. This way, REBECA expands its boarders and aims at connecting mentors and mentees from different countries.
The REBECA by EURAXESS programme will connect early career academic researchers with professionals from various disciplines working in research and innovation positions, such as research in private companies, communication or management, among others. These professionals come from the private sector, public administrations or non-governmental organisations. The mentors and mentees will have the possibility in six sessions to exchange information on expectations, possibilities and next steps to pursue professional careers beyond academic research.
The applications for mentors must be submitted through this online platform. Mentors can upload their applications from today until 5th of November at 23:59 CET.
The mentee’s application will open the 6th of November and close the 23rd of November.
The pair meetings and other planned events will start at the beginning of January 2023 and last until June 2024. The programme contains career management trainings, career events and networking events.
